The Garden of England

At last some normality, a house, a long stay and unpacking clothes, not living out of a suitcase. A day at home, not constant car travel and I'm very ready for the rest. The accommodation is a renovated barn in a field inhabited by sheep, little birds and doves. It's very peaceful, roomy with a well equipped kitchen, big shower and a pub 2 minutes walk away.

It's in the village of Frittenden in Kent surrounded by some of England's prettiest and most famous gardens, Sissinghurst in walking distance, Pashley Manor and Great Dixter being some we will visit during our stay here.
So far its been a bit interesting, we went to visit a herb garden today, which due to cutbacks doesn't have a gardener any more. It was such a shame, it had gone to rack and ruin and yet to look at website you wouldn't suspect a thing.
So we decided to go to another garden called Marle Place. We drove there, probably a 30 minute drive, only to find it closes on Thursday.  Not a good start.
Yesterday was cold and a bit rainy and today is 32C and too hot to scratch yourself.
Poor sheep, I really feel for them. Their dad (owner/farmer) is called Lester and comes to check on them regularly. This morning he came to fill up their water containers and brought his 2 working dogs. He arrives in his small van and when the sheep hear him coming, they all run to the gate, it's really cute. It's like Dad's here.......Sadly this morning Lester ran over one of his sheep, who was badly shaken, but as far as I can see is sore, but ok.

And with time running away.....it's off to the pub
Cheers.....
