Just Hanging Around

And so the Lasagne turned out ok, after we got the oven to work.
It's a Smeg convection/microwave and it has an instruction manual in English. We are not totally stupid people and are reasonably adept at getting things to work. But this bastard would not co-operate, not even with John's colourful and persuasive pleas! The lasagne was constructed and ready to go....

Forty-five minutes later we got the oven to work. If nothing else, we are persistent. Turns out it is automatically locked out so it will not heat and you have to turn this off for it to operate. Most ovens, I believe are set to work, but you can child proof them if you wish.......anyway......

That night was pretty chilly, so it was eventually a comforting meal.
It was so chilly, in fact that we awoke to fresh snow on the mountains. So picturesque.......

And all this time, the trucks just keep coming and going. They scream out of this tunnel and down the very narrow road.

We had dinner at the local restaurant last night and were talking to the lady who owns it, asking her how she was coping with the noise of the trucks. She was scathing, saying that the whole operation was very bad for business because a lot of her custom comes from Milan and the people were not coming due to the road works. John said he estimated maybe 500 trucks a day, but she thought more. She was not happy and said it would probably continue for another 3 or more weeks!
There go any thoughts of peace and quiet.
