Villa Monastero

Villa Monasteros foundations probably date back to the late 12th century and to day could be said to be an interesting example of an eclectic style residence on Lake Como.

It has been developed from the continual restoration work of the ancient cistercensian monastery of Santa Maria. And the renovation still goes on today....

It's now used as a hotel and international conference centre and the gardens are very popular for weddings, with marquees overlooking the Lake.

Even if one is not getting married, you can pay a tiny sum to wander the gardens to your hearts content. The roses were spectacular and the views......well it is Lake Como.
