Saint Emillion

A day trip to St Emillion, only 35 mins by train. Board the train early along with many other frenzied French, they are a very busy people.
You know when you are in the train and the person across from you speaks so loudly, you feel they don't really need a phone, you're sure the person at the other end can probably here them anyway....well yes there's one of those in our carriage. Sadly for her, the assertive black woman in front of us, gets up, walks over to yapping girl, shakes her finger at her and tells her to quieten down, her phone conversation does not interest her! Peace for all.
I might try this in Melbourne, or maybe not.
St Emillion is a lovely little town specialising in wine tasting, coffee shops and a fantabulous knife shop. We opted for 3, 2, and opted out of 1! It's very hilly with an old fort, a cathedral and ruins. It dates back to the 2nd Century when Romans planted the first vines here.
Our first impression was the view of the vineyards and this wonderful old house, (1) still in good condition.
Petit Milou had his day out to SE and very much enjoyed the scenery (2). Those intriguing cobble stone streets that you just need to walk up to see where it leads (3)
We walked for 5 hours and had a perfectly lovely day
